SMEs do not yet dare to believe in EU tenders
For the time being, businesses are even less likely to count on EU tenders, barely half of them consider it realistic that they will be able to get funding this year, according to the fourth quarter survey of the K&H SME Confidence Index 2023. However, this rate may rise significantly, as the money taps opened at the end of last year. A significant part of the nearly HUF 500 billion received in recent weeks supports the developments of GINOP Plusz, which support the enhancement of the competitiveness of SMEs and the revival of employment.
In 2024, application activity among companies may be stronger. In the first round, at the end of 2023, nearly 300 billion forints were received from the European Union recovery funds, and at the beginning of January, another 170 billion forints were transferred from the framework of the current EU budget period until 2027.
“Of the recently transferred amount, nearly HUF 80 billion supports the developments of the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Program Plusz (GINOP Plusz), which can help increase the competitiveness of domestic enterprises and boost employment. In the current budget cycle, green investments, such as the purchase of renewable energy sources or electric vehicles, are already receiving a lot of attention, with which significant cost savings can be achieved and at the same time they can help agriculture to operate more sustainably.”
– informed Zoltán Rammacher, marketing and sales manager of K&H SME.
