78% of the export goes into the EU
In July 2008, according to first estimates of Hungarian Central Statistic Office, exports amounted to HUF 1,433 billion (EUR 6,113 million), while the value of imports reached HUF 1,497 billion (EUR 6,351 million).
The Euro value of exports rose by 8,
that of imports increased by 10 percent over the equivalent month of
the preceding year. In July, the trade balance showed a deficit of
about HUF 63 billion (EUR 239 million), the balance deteriorated by
HUF 34 billion (EUR 123 million) compared to the same month of 2007.
The share of the European Union Member States was 78 percent in
exports and 68 percent in imports.
Over the course of January–July 2008,
the value of exports was HUF 11,013 billion (EUR 43,838 million),
while that of imports totalled up to HUF 10,960 billion (EUR 43,611
million) according to preliminary results. In Euro terms, exports
grew by 13, while imports by 11 percent. The trade balance showed a
surplus of HUF 53 billion (EUR 227 million), which means an
improvement of HUF 123 billion (EUR 508 million) as compared to the
deficit of HUF 71 billion (EUR 281 million) in the same period of the
previous year.
