China has the third-largest economy
Since 2002 China has advanced from the world's sixth-largest economy to No. 3, overtaking the U.K. and Germany and India and narrowing the gap with the world's two largest economies: the U.S., Japan.
There is a different counting the GDP, according to nominal
GDP USA is on the first place, Japan and Germany follow it, but according
to purchasing power China is on the
second place, Japan is the third and India the fourth.
In an annual retrospective of the National Bureau of
Statistics said China now has a per capita GDP of $2,010, above the $2,000 mark
established by the World Bank for middle-income status. It is enough for the
87th place and India stands on the 118th.
