At Kifli, 6 percent of couriers earn more than HUF 1 million net
Kifli.hu, the Budapest-based online supermarket, has introduced a new bonus system that allows couriers to earn over one million forints a month if they perform well. Based on the earnings data of the KSH (Central Statistical Office), this means that couriers can take home more than twice the average earnings.
In Kifli.hu’s warehouse in Kőbánya, the day starts early, the couriers start their shift at five in the morning, travel around the city and complete a series of deliveries. In recognition of their commitment, the company introduced a new bonus system that rewards their extra efforts. The company told Index that the bonus means a net amount of HUF one million per month, which is available in case of outstanding performance. This is remarkable, as couriers can thus earn more than double the average earnings reported by the KSH.
Kifli couriers cover an average of 12 addresses per tour, creating a personal connection between customers and the company. Couriers now receive a net bonus for the afternoon shift, as well as a weekend bonus for those who take on the “hospitality weekend” challenge.
The company currently employs more than 500 couriers and plans to hire another 100 this year. Gabriel Makki, the managing director of Kifli.hu, emphasized that the commitment of couriers is the key to customer satisfaction. With the bonus system, the company plans to ensure that outstandingly performing couriers earn significant income and thereby build long-term cooperation. The company said that about 30 percent of couriers earn over HUF 800,000 net, and about 6 percent reach or exceed HUF 1 million net per month.
