Kifli.hu’s hot drinks category exceeded 2024 sales throughout the year

Currently, 104 flavors of winter and Christmas hot drink products are available in the Kifli.hu  online supermarket, nearly half of which represent the premium segment. In addition, around 150 organic, vegan or decaffeinated products in the category are available in the range. Customers are most looking for flavored coffee capsules, fruit teas and gift pack selections as the holidays approach. The most popular brand based on sales is English Tea Shop Organic, with 2,592 units sold this year. Among domestic suppliers, Café Frei’s products lead the list in value, while Herbária teas are the most popular in this category in terms of quantity. The trend is further strengthened by the fact that interest in tea advent calendars is also continuously growing for several brands.

As Christmas approaches, the best-selling products include the Starbucks by Nespresso Holiday Blend Toffee Nut limited edition, Pickwick Fruit Fusion Apple Love tea, Sir Morton apple-cinnamon blend tea, Teekanne Granny’s Finest plum-cinnamon fruit tea, and the English Tea Shop Advent calendar filter BIO tea selection.

The selection intended for gifts takes on a prominent role during this period, Kifli offers 40 different, premium-packaged selections, of which the greatest interest is shown in the Pickwick Christmas tea selection, the English Tea Shop 24 Winter Delights “Winter Delights” selection BIO tea, and the English Tea Shop Christmas BIO tea selection.

Nearly half of the turnover of hot drinks, 48 percent is coffee, tea accounts for 35 percent, specialty drinks for 12 percent, and instant drinks for 5 percent. The share of premium products is approximately 50 percent. Among teas, New English Teas, Sonnentor BIO and Dammann, and among coffees, Bányai, our own brand, UBOMI – which is available in whole grain, ground, BIO, capsule and decaffeinated versions -, Casino Mocca and Samurai Shoelace are the most popular, thanks to the latter, the highest quality premium coffees are also available in capsule versions. The average monthly order volume for premium teas and coffees ranges from 10 to 76 units per product, but sales increase significantly during the winter months.

Seasonal demand is strongest from September to the end of March, but weather conditions can affect the length and intensity of peak periods throughout the year. During this period, the majority of sales are generated by returning customers. For New English Teas, they generate 77 percent of purchases, and for Sonnentor BIO, 57 percent. For Dammann teas and Bányai coffees, this ratio varies between 39 and 78 percent, with the remainder coming from new customers.
