The new school year has arrived, so the K&H Vigyázz, széll, pénz! financial competition is starting again, which has been ensuring that children can learn how to handle money in a playful way for more than a decade and a half. Since the beginning, more than 100 thousand students have participated in the competition, which clearly shows the success and long-term impact of the program. Primary and secondary school teams can enter this year’s competition until January 23, 2026, to expand and compare their knowledge from round to round until the national final. The best-performing teams and, of course, teachers will receive a lot of prizes.

Adults are trying to find the best solutions in an amazing rush of stimuli. This is also true for finances, the mazes of which are not easy to navigate. A key goal for K&H is to provide young people with financial knowledge that can be used in everyday life in a timely manner, while they are still in school. This is precisely why the financial institution launched the K&H Vigyázz, szét, pénz! financial contest more than a decade and a half ago, as part of its social responsibility program, which plays a prominent role in its strategy.

Partnership with big names

“The competition series has grown into one of the most successful financial education programs in Hungary. So far, more than 100,000 students have participated in it, which clearly shows that children and teachers are open to learning financial knowledge in a playful way. The number of participants of 100,000 is already telling, but the popularity of the competition is also clearly demonstrated by the fact that a record number of entries were received last school year, with a total of 14,000 competing, compared to 12,000 the year before, which was also a record, and nearly 9,000 the year before last. So it is no exaggeration to say that the demand for this type of financial education is growing”

– said Nóra Horváth Magyary Voljč, the executive director responsible for communications at K&H. She highlighted that the competition is supported by the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center and RTL Hungary again this year. The collaboration of professional partners ensures that students receive knowledge from a modern and credible source, while the media partnership can spread the word about the competition to families and schools even more widely.

Prize dumping awaits students and teachers

This school year, student teams can submit their entries on the competition website and complete the tasks of the first online round until January 23, 2026. This will be followed by the second round in February, and then the regional semi-finals in the spring. The national final will take place in June 2026, where the best teams can compete in person.
