Thanks to K&H’s support, new opportunities may open up for young people raised in SOS Children’s Villages. The aim of the cooperation is to enable young adults who have already left the child protection system but still need support to stand on their own two feet. The K&H Group supports the SOS Children’s Villages Hungary Foundation’s Life Start Fund with 10 million forints, which improves the life start chances of young people raised in state care.

The grants include, among other things, rent, housing allowances, self-financing for the purchase of a vehicle or the purchase of real estate aimed at stabilizing housing. Within the framework of the program, 6.7 million forints have already found a home.

Supporting those who find it much more difficult to start an independent life

“Sustainability is not only about protecting the environment, but social responsibility is also an equally important part of it. Our main goal is to contribute to equal opportunities in society and to support young people who are starting out on their own in difficult circumstances”

– emphasized Levente Suba, Head of K&H’s Sustainability Program, in connection with the bank’s support for the SOS Children’s Villages Life Start Fund.

The fund was established for young people who are on the verge of becoming adults after leaving foster care and making their first independent decisions, whether it be housing, employment or education. K&H’s support also contributes to giving young people the opportunity to start their adult lives with a worthy, stable foundation. “For young people raised in child protection, starting adult life is a particularly big challenge. Most of them cannot count on family support or financial support, so independent life is not only an emotional but also an existential test for them. The aim of the Starting Life Fund is to give them a foothold during this period and to help them towards a sustainable, safe life in the long term,” said Hajnalka Bán, Head of Fundraising at the SOS Children’s Villages Hungary Foundation.
