Handball is the second most popular sport

Nearly 60% of the Hungarian population follows the sporting events. Handball is the second most popular sport in team sports, also a silver medalist on the list of those sports, that we are the proudest.

58 percent of the Hungarian population follows the sporting events, the population of the western region in the largest rate. 78 percent of the western region is open to sports, and one in ten people regularly follows the sporting events. Most of them (26 percent of the respondents) follows the world events (World Cup, Olympics) primarily.
No surprise that football is the most popular team sport in Hungary, but this was closely followed by handball.
