Average wage increase at 1 percent
In the first five months of 2009, the gross average wage 1.4 percent higher than a year earlier; in the case of net wages the increase was 1 percent. KSH’s report indicates that real wages are now 2.1 lower than in the same period of 2008. In the competitive sector wages grew by 0.3 percent, while in the budgetary sector they diminished by 7.8 percent. Full-time employees earned HUF 197,500 gross, those employed by enterprises received HUF 196,000 per month, at budgetary institutions the average salary was HUF 204,100.
