The elimination of extra taxes burdening commercial chains was also discussed
The Democratic Coalition (DK) continues to demand the abolition of extra taxes burdening commercial chains and a drastic reduction of the sales tax on the most basic foodstuffs in order to break down food inflation, said the politician of the party at his online press conference on Wednesday.
Zoltán Bodnár spoke about the fact that, according to KSH data, the February consumer price index was 25.4 percent, and food inflation was 43.3 percent. The government only fights inflation in “propaganda texts”, but in reality it does nothing, he said. The reason for the minimal decrease in February is only the reduced gas consumption due to the mild winter and the higher inflation of last February, which is the basis of the comparison, the politician said.
The cause of high inflation is actually the government itself, and as long as this government remains, “Orbán inflation will remain with us,” he declared.
