Bread prices may rise permanently
In a few months white bread prices may rise up to 30 percent. By the end of the year, around 300 HUF should be paid for a kilogram. The price increase is due to the bad wheat harvest abroad, so there is a need for Hungarian wheat.
This year, according to the official datas; 3.8 million tons of wheat has been grown in Hungary. Although this is significantly less than the usual 4.5 million tonnes. But the main reason for the price increase is the bad weather. In the large grain producing countries, the harvest was poor, because of the bad weather. A wheat shortage occured, so there is a need for Hungarian wheat – reports penzcentrum.hu.
