The Central and Eastern European region leads the shopping center development market
In the second half of last year, 3.6 million square meters of shopping mall was built in Europe, of which 70 percent in the Central and Eastern European region – Cushman & Wakefield real estate consultant firm told the results of its own survey to MTI on Thursday.
At the end of last year, the total European shopping center stock was 154 million square meters of rentable area. France remains the biggest market with 17.3 million square meters, followed by the United Kingdom with 16.93 million square meters, while the third-placed is Russia, where the rentable area excesses 16.86 million square meters.
