The Eastern European retailing is on the way of urbanization
Shopping centers at all motorway exits – in the Eastern European capitals, retail trade is at the edge of the cities. This trend seems to turn in Budapest, Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw, Zagreb and Bucharest as well.
The first malls are slowly open in the shopping streets of the city centers. In consumer point of view, the city center of Prague is the most attractive. On the basis of criteria, such as tenant mix, the number of visitors, and shopping experience, the Czech capital offers the best conditions. Prague followed by the downtown of Budapest, which can become more prominent, with the opening of the Váci1 mall in 2011. Warsaw is on the third place, followed by Zagreb, Bratislava and Bucharest – states RegioPlan Consulting.
