Higher coffee bean prices than ever because of the bad weather
World coffee prices hit a multiyear high in 2024, after exceeding the previous year’s average by 38.8%, mainly due to adverse weather in major producing countries, informed the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Last December Arabica coffee was about 58% more expensive than a year earlier, while the price of Robusta was 70% higher. FAO predicts that coffee export prices could rise further this year. Higher transport costs have also contributed to the surge in coffee prices, for instance last December consumers in the European Union paid 3.75% more for their coffee than a year earlier. //
