Coffee consumption may reduce the risk of colon cancer
According to a new survey, the consumption of only two cups of coffee a day may reduce the risk of colon cancer.
The researchers in their study, studied the coffee consumption habits of 8500 people living in Israel. Roughly five thousand of the participants had colon cancer, while at 3,500 people cancer was not diagnosed. The participants drank an average of less than two cups of coffee a day – the ScienceDaily website wrote.
Researchers believe that the coffee consumption reduces the risk of colorectal cancer, because it accelerates the passage of the substances in the colon. It is also possible that coffee consumption affects the composition of microbes in the gut or the coffee components have anticancer nature. (MTI)
