The world price of cocoa is expected to increase
Within a year, the world price of cocoa beans can increase by nearly 40 percent, due to the drier than average Central African weather. And due to the supply lagging behind the demand a further rise in prices can be expected – the Conclude Investment Ltd. told MTI.
According to the recent datas of the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), in the current 2013/14-es season, 4.1 million tonnes of cocoa is expected to be harvested. (in this sector the cultivation period lasts from October to September), because of the drier than average weather. The cocoa demand exceeds this amount yb more than 115 thousand tonnes. (MTI)
