JYSK’s 100th Hungarian store was handed over in Debrecen
The 100th Hungarian store of the Danish JYSK group was handed over on Thursday in Debrecen. Rami Jensen, the president and CEO of the Danish home furnishing store chain, recalled that they opened their first store in Hungary in 2005 in Fót.
Rami Jensen added that they now supply three hundred stores in five countries from their distribution center in the Ecser region, handed over two years ago. Sándor Szimeiszter, JYSK’s country manager responsible for Hungary, Austria and Greece, spoke about the continuous development of the department store chain, he said that a new or renovated store is opened in the region almost every week or every two weeks. Hungary was the seventh place, apart from Denmark, where a JYSK store was opened, today they are present in thirty countries. The sales revenue of their stores in Hungary in the business year that ended in September was HUF 76.4 billion, which is a 14 percent increase compared to the previous business year. They are planning a 6 percent increase in sales next year – he indicated. Sándor Szimeiszter also told MTI that about a thousand people are employed in Hungary. Nine new jobs were created with the opening of their hundredth store in Hungary and third in Debrecen.
