JYSK raises workers’ wages by 20% in December and is closed on December 24
JYSK, the Danish retail store chain, is introducing an average wage increase of 20 percent for its employees from the first of December. In addition, the company will not open on December 24 for the sixth year running, thereby supporting employees’ relaxation during the holidays. Since January 2022, JYSK has increased its employees’ salaries by an average of 45 percent.
With the Christmas store closing, the company also wants to help its employees plan with them in the long term, supported by the Scandinavian corporate culture and workplace atmosphere.
JYSK constantly responds to employee needs and places emphasis on employee health insurance, sports subsidies, and financing commuting to work. Ági Nyeste, JYSK’s head of HR responsible for Hungary, Greece and Austria, said that in addition to wage increases, these benefits are also part of the company’s long-term employee support.
The retail chain also announced that it will open two new stores in Hungary in December, thus further expanding its network of 94 stores.
