Vajda-Papír brings the world of digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence closer to young people in its paper industry vocational training program, which aims to enable students to master the professional foundations of paper production in a real industrial environment, in Europe’s most modern paper mill. The paper industry vocational training, which was restarted in 2021 after a break of several decades, is being promoted to young people choosing a career by Hungary’s leading manufacturer of sanitary paper products, Vajda-Papír. On November 7, the company will hold an open day with a factory tour at its Dunaföldvár plant, one of Europe’s most modern, fully digitalized and automated paper mills. More than 200 people have already registered for the event.

Attila Vajda, founder and CEO of the Vajda-Papír Group, explained that today several thousand interested parents and students participate in career selection events, where the region’s largest employer, Vajda-Papír, popularizes paper industry vocational training and presents the opportunities available to career starters. The aim of the program is for young people to get to know the profession of paper manufacturing and processing technician more closely, which they can acquire in dual training and which offers a stable career in one of the most modern, future-proof industries, he added.

He mentioned that Vajda-Papír, as one of the most modern, internationally significant paper manufacturing companies in Hungary and Europe, pays special attention to the training of future professionals. The company’s paper industry vocational training program offers young people the opportunity to learn the professional foundations of paper production and modern production skills in a real industrial environment, among the most modern automated and digitalized technologies. The company has several modern factories and serious export activities, so students can gain valuable experience not only domestically, but also internationally. The company’s operations are characterized by digitalization, the application of artificial intelligence and a commitment to sustainability – these approaches also play a prominent role in vocational training.

“The success of Vajda-Papír has always been based on people, knowledge and innovation. I believe that only prepared professionals with practical knowledge can operate and further develop the industry of the future. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to us that young people receive modern, practice-oriented vocational training in the paper industry, where they can learn about modern technologies, the diverse use of artificial intelligence, automation and sustainable production processes. The paper industry is a stable, future-proof sector that provides essential products for everyday life – from hygiene papers to packaging materials. Anyone who chooses this profession will not only find a secure livelihood, but also development opportunities and a value-creating profession,” said Attila Vajda, founder and CEO of Vajda-Papír.

recalled that after a break of several decades, full-time vocational training in paper production and processing was restarted in Hungary in 2021 in cooperation with ITM, MKIK and Vajda-Papír. The resumption of the training was justified by the change in global consumption trends, the decline in plastics and the economic growth of the paper industry. He emphasized that the Vocational Education 4.0 strategy has modernized the structure and methodology of education, “so that the knowledge of young people is better aligned with the needs of companies, and the talented workforce participating in dual training is an effectively profitable investment for companies.”

András Magyar, Director General of the Dunaújváros Vocational Education Center emphasized that vocational training is the form of education of the future, the prestige of which has grown spectacularly in recent years. Dual training creates an opportunity for students to practice the knowledge they have acquired at school in a real company environment, so they enter the labor market confidently, already with work experience. Cooperation with companies is a competitive advantage not only for students, but also for the entire economy, he explained. Technological development, digitalization and artificial intelligence have brought new challenges to industry. The task of vocational training today is to respond to these challenges: to train young people who can stand their ground professionally, but who are also at home in the field of digitalization and sustainability.
