The background of the future
‘Future Store’ is not only about the equipment on the shop floor: an integrated IT system also forms part of it. These days when retailers try to keep only a minimum stock, it is especially important to refill the shelves as soon as possible, which can be done by automatic and on-line purchasing. If the cash registers are connected to the stock registry system, it signals when a minimum level is reached and an order is paced on-line. Although many think that on the cash register market ‘Future Stores’ set the trends, Romulus Steinbinder, the managing director of Synergon Retail Sytems Kft. is of the opinion that manufacturers have the opportunity to test their innovations on shoppers and measure their efficiency. Synergon first introduced its ‘Future Store’ solution in 2005. Since then many different types of cash registers, self-service systems, electronic shelf labels, RFID and self checkout solutions have become part of the company’s portfolio. Magdolna Farkas of MOBISOL told our magazine that the company customises PDA applications according to their customers’ needs. This is absolutely necessary as well, because technology and demand are changing so rapidly that a solution might become obsolete in a couple of months. MOBISOL’s PDA system develops in line with the demands of the FMCG market, offering PDA technology as mobile CRM system or as sales database.
InfomatiX developed solutions which aid in storing processes and are capable of keeping stock of tools and equipment – informs Katalin Nagy. They emphasise that the main processes in storing can be carried using mobile tools. These solutions help in the practical realisation of the FIFO/LIFO principle. Their latest solutions are applications which run on industrial PDAs and smartphones connected to the central business management system. InfomatiX’s Sales Force Automation systems make it possible for constantly travelling regional representatives to have the latest stock information at their disposal. Infotechnology’s managing director, Attila Zsámár says that the modular system they developed is the perfect solution for everyone on the logistics market. The product is capable of covering all the transportation processes and minimum 95 percent of business management becomes electronic. Instead of barcodes systems they focus on using RFID technology and several mobile forms of communication.
