The good potato crop and low import price may bring price decrease for the autumn

Due to last year's drought the domestic potato crop will not last much longer, but because of the structure of imports rise is not likely to continue in the retail prices until the new crop appears. Even a significant price decrease is expected this autumn.

“We calculated that last year's poor harvest runs out for this time, several market players, mostly small farmers were storing Hungarian potatoes, which will be sold these days” – Polgár Zsolt, the Director of  Pannon University’s Potato Research Centre told Világgazdaság.
