Posta’s new logistics center will be able to double the current capacity
Magyar Posta has reached another milestone: in order to serve its customers more efficiently and modernly, it is building a high-capacity, automated logistics center in Budapest.
Magyar Posta’s medium-term goal remains clear: digital, XXI. 20th century and providing a customer-oriented service in line with the changed shopping habits at every point of the country. This expectation is fully met by the new parcel logistics center under construction, which will be the central processing plant of the existing national parcel logistics network and which, according to plans, will be taken over by Magyar Posta at the beginning of 2026.
In response to the increased volume of parcels, Posta has continuously developed its nationwide parcel processing network in recent years: it has established new regional parcel logistics plants supported by automated conveyors at nearly 20 locations, which will also be enriched with a central parcel processor with the current investment.
The center, with a total area of approximately 25,000 square meters and equipped with state-of-the-art solutions, will be built on an area of 8.3 hectares as part of a green field investment in the Ecser Nyugati Industrial Park in Budapest, and will be able to process more than 30,000 parcels per hour. The central parcel processor will be able to support the operation of Posta’s central region and its national parcel logistics network in a more efficient way, and it will provide the employees working there with a modern work environment equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.
