Consumer confidence in the euro area has returned to pre-pandemic levels
Consumer confidence in the euro area has returned to pre-coronavirus levels and close to the long-term average, according to preliminary data from the European Commission’s March survey.
In a preliminary survey by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG EcFin), the consumer confidence index rose much more than expected in the euro area, by 4.0 points to 10.8 points, compared with the previous month. The market expected minus 14.5 points for March. (MTI)
