Easter holidays have boosted retail sales in Germany
Retail sales in annual comparision expanded with a much greater extent in April than expected, mainly due to the Easter holidays.
According to preliminary data published on Friday by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail sales increased by 4.0 percent, compared to last April, eliminating price effects. Analysts expected a 1.1 percent increase after the 2.1 percent drop in March. (MTI)
