The meat is cheaper, eggs will be more expensive
The price of feed corn reduces, the costs of the meat industry decrease, and this will be seen in prices. However, the price of eggs can be sustained over 30 HUF: with the lack of chicken and the changing of EU rules their breed will be more expensive.
This year, the chicken-and duck breeders and egg producers are expected to close the year well, but a decline has occured in the turkey and goose breeding industry Chicken acquisition, processing and sales in the first eight months of 2009 increased by 5-5,5 percent – said Bárány László, the President of the Poultry Product Council (BTT). The turkey breders, however recorded a 6-8 percent decrease in traffic this year. The overproduction in Europe played a major role in the very low level of prices – reports index.
