The changes related to waste management were explained in János Áder’s new podcast
He talked about the most important changes related to waste management with Oszkár Világi, deputy CEO of the Mol group, and former head of state János Áder in the latest episode of his Blue Planet podcast published on Monday, which is also available on the most popular video sharing portal.
János Áder, chairman of the board of trustees of the Kék Bolygó Climate Protection Foundation, recalled at the beginning of the conversation: Mol Nyrt. won the waste management concession for 35 years last year, so its subsidiary, MOHU MOL Waste Management Zrt., has been providing the service since this summer. He said: the new waste management system will include a new beverage packaging return system in Hungary, so plastic and glass bottles and metal beverage cans will be returnable.
Oszkár Világi explained: from 2024, it will be possible to return bottles that have a redemption logo and a new bar code compared to the one on the previous packaging to the redemption point at the shops, the REpoint.
At the same time, he explained that during the transitional period provided by the legislation, until June 30, 2024, the beverage packages put on the market without marking and redemption fee can still remain on the shelves of stores, and these will not be redeemable at RE points.
