Hisa Franko became the first three-star restaurant in Slovenia
Hisa Franko became the first restaurant in Slovenia and the Eastern European region to boast three Michelin stars, and Milka in Kranjska Gora received its second star, Slovenian public television reported on Tuesday, citing the announcements of those involved.
Ana Ros, the chef of the Hisa Franko restaurant, was chosen as the best female chef in the world in 2017. The Michelin Guide did not examine Slovenian gastronomy before, but it was precisely because of Ros that it decided to publish a regional guide for Slovenia in 2020.
“The third Michelin star is recognition of our commitment to creativity, innovation and culinary art. It confirms that we are on the right track”
– announced Hisa Franko, located in the Soca Valley, after receiving the Michelin guide’s highest recognition as the 140th restaurant in the world.
“Hisa Franko impressed the Michelin inspectors with its constantly improving quality compared to the first edition of the Michelin Guide Slovenia, boasting a unique tasting menu, dishes that stand out with original colors, flavors and textures”
– wrote the Michelin Guide.
