According to Lipták László producer from Medgyesegyháza, producers have learned from the fiascos of the past two years when they gave unripe melon to pushers who discredited the Hungarian melon producers' reputation on the German and Scandinavian markets. The producers expects the Hungarian Association of Melon (MDSZ) to ensure the peace on the domestic market this year. The Hungarian Association of Melon come into being by the help of Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Marketing Organization and Product Board (FruitVeB) and unites producers of 5 producing area. According to Mártonffy Béla, executive director of the FruitVeB they created the possibility of marking domestic melons. On the domestic and the export markets only, under high-quality, controlled conditions breeded Hungarian melon can use this teademark. FruitVeB would clean the market: they suggest that the only legal working farmers with  melon field could sell melon. Producers will also ensure that the networks do not push the prices down with their discount actions – reports Népszabadság Online.
