Henkel also fought against the flow of waste
In mid-June, organized by the Tisza PET Cup, environmental volunteers took the section of Lake Tisza, between Tiszafüred and Tiszanána-Dinnyéshát, with the aim of ridding the river and its floodplains of waste. The Henkel team was also part of the event, which lasted several days.
The PET Cup waste collection competition was first launched in 2013 as an initiative of the Natural Film.hu Association. In the past 10 years, the initial civil movement has become an internationally important environmental and nature protection program, which uses the power of sport, volunteering and environmental awareness to draw attention to the protection of river waters and the importance of proper waste management.
“Henkel’s commitment to sustainability is one of our core corporate values, so we join this nature conservation adventure year after year with great joy and enthusiasm. Henkel is one of the oldest corporate sponsors of the PET Cup, for the first time in 2017 only a few of our employees participated in the waste collection derby, however the number of our volunteers is increasing, so much so that this year Henkel was represented by a team of more than 20 people and the entire Hungarian management also joined. It was very important to us that, as a unit, together with our colleagues, we did something for our environment. Unless you are there and see it with your own eyes, you will not believe the amount of garbage on the banks of the Tisza and in the reeds.”
said Dr. Ágnes Fábián, managing director.
