Henkel achieved strong organic sales growth in the first quarter
In the first quarter of 2024, the Henkel Group achieved a sales revenue of around 5.3 billion euros and produced a strong organic sales growth of 3.0 percent. The growth was caused by the positive price development of both businesses. The development of the volume at the group level – which is still affected by the portfolio measures taken in the Consumer Brands business – showed a further sequential improvement compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. In nominal terms, sales revenue decreased by -5.2 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year – primarily due to the sale of business activities in Russia and negative exchange rate effects.
“The year started very well. In addition, we were able to close the acquisitions of Seal for Life Industries and Vidal Sassoon in China faster than expected, thereby further strengthening our business.”
– said Carsten Knobel, chairman of Henkel’s board of directors. “In light of these developments, last week we significantly raised our sales and earnings outlook for 2024. This shows that we have a clear strategy that we strictly implement. We deliver on what we promised and are well on our way to further profitable growth.”
The positive organic sales growth of the Adhesive Technologies business unit in the first quarter is primarily due to the strong organic sales growth of the Mobility & Electronics business area. The very strong organic sales growth of the Consumer Brands division was supported by all business areas, especially the Hair area.
