A survey of local products and agritourism opportunities is also being prepared
István Széchenyi University is conducting a survey on the production and consumption habits of local products. A survey was also launched in relation to the development of agritourism, based on the results of which proposals can be drawn up for measures to help the diversification of farming. Both researches are supported by the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy.

The Széchenyi István University is preparing an extensive survey of local products. The focus of the research is on short supply chains, and within this mainly the production of local products, as well as consumption and shopping habits. The staff of the university prepared two questionnaires, so that both producers and consumers can contribute to the success of the survey, thereby obtaining an accurate picture of the producers of local products, producer services, and consumption and shopping habits. The results of the research can contribute to increasing the popularity of local products and improving their sales opportunities.
Local products are important in several ways
The domestic sale of local products produced on domestic soil and food made from them supports the economic development of our environment, livable, sustainable rural life and the security of our country’s food supply. In the markets, customers can also verify the origin of the products they like, and producers can receive direct feedback on the results of their work.
In addition to processing locally produced raw materials, more and more farmers are trying to expand their offer with other services as well
However, there is still plenty of room for development in the field of agritourism. This goal is also served by the survey of the Active and Ecotourism Development Center, in which the National Chamber of Agriculture, the Hungarian National Rural Network, and the National Association of Rural and Agrotourism also participate. The purpose of the research is to examine the situation of domestic agrotourism and, with the results, to prepare proposals for improvements and measures on a wide professional scale, as well as to launch specific projects to support the diversification of producers. The questionnaire is available by clicking on the link below. Both surveys are carried out in cooperation with the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy. Our goal is to get a more accurate picture of local product producers, producer services, and consumption and shopping habits.
