Will artificial intelligence take over our home appliances?
Online people who don’t even exist in reality, music created with two clicks and mind-reading smartphones – in recent times we have been given an almost frightening insight into what AI is capable of. However, artificial intelligence is already helping us in much more obvious and useful areas of our daily lives – perhaps even in our homes.
Artificial intelligence is taking away our jobs – we have been reading articles painting terrifying futures almost everywhere lately. But what if AI “took away” our housework, that is, made our daily tasks easier? What if we could actually take advantage of this help right now?
Among the 500-700 million LG products currently in use worldwide, for example, there are already many smart devices that are equipped with artificial intelligence-supported sensors, so they are able to learn from the users’ habits and adapt to them. Moreover, such a device can be a smart investment in the long run: intelligent functions not only improve the user experience, but can even reduce our electricity bill.
Does my TV know me better than my partner?
Artificial intelligence in televisions is most evident when – as we can experience with popular streaming channels, for example – the device identifies our preferences based on the content we have already watched, and based on this, independently recommends films, series and TV shows that suit our tastes. In LG smart TVs, for example, AI also helps us to watch TV in the best possible quality: it can independently improve (or upscale) lower-resolution content, so that, for example, we can watch an older film without pixelation, but perfectly intelligible. Similarly, an AI solution is when the TV sets the screen settings taking into account the lighting conditions of the room, or when the device automatically adjusts the sound based on the layout of the room. Similar to lower-resolution image content, LG AI TVs can also independently improve sound quality.
