This year’s MBH Bank Gourmet Festival focuses on Hungarian flavors and dishes
Instead of the end of May, this year it will be June 4-7. The MBH Bank Gourmet Festival will be held at Millenáris between, this time with the focus on the Hungarian countryside, domestic flavors and dishes.
According to the organizers’ announcement on Wednesday, they will continue to welcome visitors seeking quality gastronomy and culinary experiences with around a hundred exhibitors, dozens of programs and tastings.
As they wrote, the characteristic flavors, ingredients and dishes of the countryside will be served to the audience by the exhibiting restaurants according to their own vision and creativity.
More rural restaurants than usual can be tried: Anyukám gedál will return, the only two Michelin-starred rural restaurants, Platán and the Bib Gourmand-certified Iszkor, will be there, the green Michelin-starred Villa Kabala and the almost new Papi, which is the rural “brother” of the one-Michelin-starred Babel Budapest, will also participate in the festival for the first time.
“The Hungarian countryside is not a passing fashion, but a permanent value, which is not only “it must be protected, but making it more visible is also an important task”
– Richárd Nemes, the festival’s main organizer, was quoted in the announcement.
The evocation of Hungarian cuisine has also brought a new venue to life, where renowned chefs prepare different classic regional dishes in limited quantities every day: there will be Baja fish soup, Karcag lamb stew, rooster stew and contemporary goulash.
The Gourmet Academy awaits those seeking learning and professional knowledge this year as well, where they can attend free lectures, workshops and tastings related to the topic can be expected. Sunday will be family day, and those under 18 will be able to enter the event for free on this day this year as well – the announcement reads.
