The domestic poultry sector is now in the depth of the pit
In addition to the coronavirus epidemic, the forint-euro exchange rate and bird flu, declining production is slowly beginning to have an impact on the poultry market. The sector may have a share of about HUF 4 billion in the additional HUF 25 billion provided by the Economic Protection Fund to address the economic effects of the coronavirus epidemic.
The poultry sector may have a share of about HUF 4 billion in the additional HUF 25 billion provided by the Economic Protection Fund to address the economic effects of the coronavirus epidemic, writes Világgazdaság. According to the forthcoming draft legislation, this can be achieved in such a way that producers, as already announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, can receive HUF 3 billion in support, and food companies operating in the poultry industry can receive HUF 1 billion from the EUR 25 billion allocated to the food industry. The additional HUF 3 billion provided to producers will be charged to the increased, so-called de minimis budget, and the support will be based on the performance of the first quarter of last year. Food companies operating in the poultry industry could apply for a total of about HUF 1 billion in support for the employees. This is commensurate with the weight of the sector, said Attila Csorbai, chairman and director of the Poultry Products Council (BTT).
