There is no reason to argue about the third!
The 2010 Alexandra Restaurant Guide was presented to the press at the end of May. Testers visited restaurants incognito and used the GaultMillau systems for rating, with the performance of the kitchen being the most important factor. When the book was published for the first time many despised Tamás Molnár B., but this year the book’s presentation was a real celebration. In 2010, 44 restaurants earned 11 points out of the possible 20; 12 restaurants scored 13 points or higher.
The results: restaurant of the year: Costes; head chef of the year: Balázs Pethő (Csalogány 26); hope of Hungarian gastronomy: Tamás Széll (Onyx); best service of the year: Fausto’s; discovery of the year: Gábor Mogyorósi (Aranyszarvas) • restaurant owners of the year: Károly Gerendai (Costes), Péter Andrusch (Alabárdos), Balázs Csapody (Kistücsök) • best price-value ratio: Olimpia; ‘csárda’ of the year: Bándi Udvarház; best diner: Kádár diner. • The scores of the first five restaurants: Chateau Visz (16) – meanwhile they changed the chef, Costes (15.5), Csalogány 26 (14.5), Onyx (14.5), Babel (14).
