The road to the KMÉ trademark has also been opened for fruit syrups
From now on, high-quality fruit syrups are also eligible for the KMÉ trademark. Applicants must meet strict requirements for the raw material and other usable ingredients, as well as for the finished product, so that their product can deservedly bear the KMÉ certificate.
You can apply for the KMÉ trademark and the KMÉ gold grade with a product called filtered or fibrous fruit syrup, the production conditions of which comply with the current Hungarian and EU legislation, as well as the requirements of the Hungarian Food Code. Fruit syrup can typically be made from fruit juice produced by direct pressing, but the use of concentrated fruit juice/fruit pulp is also not excluded. Only natural aromas and aroma extracts, as well as natural coloring materials, can be used for its production.
It can only be preserved by heat treatment
It is an important requirement that the fruit content of the finished product be at least 50% in the case of filtered fruit syrup, and at least 35% in the case of citrus fruit syrup and fibrous products. The product can only be filled in glass packaging. In addition to the term filtered or fibrous, the name on the label must also include statements referring to the raw material (directly pressed, made from concentrate).
