Gránit Bank grew above the sector average in 2024
Continuing the trend of previous years, Gránit Bank achieved growth exceeding the sector average in 2024. The balance sheet total increased 3.5 times more than the banking sector average, and expanded 229 times in 15 years.
Gránit Bank announced in its statement that the 2024 business report of the bank and the banking group was adopted with overwhelming shareholder participation, according to which the 23 percent return on equity achieved by the banking group also significantly exceeds the consolidated average of domestic banks.
The banking group closed 2024 with a balance sheet total of nearly 1,700 billion forints, equity exceeded 148 billion forints, profit before tax was 23 billion forints, and profit after tax was more than 21 billion forints – they informed.
The statement quoted Éva Hegedüs, CEO of Gránit Bank, as saying that the general meeting held on Wednesday, the first time as a public limited company, decided that – in accordance with the practice of previous years – the after-tax profit for 2024 will also be transferred to the retained earnings, which amounts to a total of 57.9 billion forints of the bank’s equity.
Among the performance indicators, it was highlighted that Gránit Bank’s equity has increased nearly 70 times in the past 15 years, and in 2024 it grew 4.5 times faster than the sector average. The deposit portfolio increased to 225 times the value at the start, growing 4.3 times faster than the banking sector average last year, and the loan portfolio grew 1,431 times the value at the start, and growing 4.6 times faster than the sector average last year.
