GMO-free production is an important value of Hungarian agriculture
The aim of the Ministry of Agriculture is to ensure that GMO-free products are placed on store shelves and on the tables of Hungarians, starting from GMO-free feed for our animals, through processing to the finished product, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on his social media page.

No plant modified by genetic technology has ever been cultivated in Hungary, as the Ministry of Agriculture considers the preservation of our country’s biological diversity, traditional crops and farm animals as our national heritage to be of utmost importance. Plant raw materials from GMO-free production, meat, milk, eggs of animals fed with such feed and foods made from them, as well as honey are all part of the range of products that can be labeled GMO-free.
Products marked with the trademark of the Ministry of Agriculture are a guarantee for consumers, since the entire production process undergoes strict control, which is ensured by a Certification Organization.
