GLS Hungary further expanded it to “GLS XXL” service
GLS Hungary introduced its “GLS XXL” service in April 2023, with which the company not only provides a solution for its clients in the delivery of postal packages, but also in the field of freight forwarding. The company was the first in Hungary to undertake the delivery of shipments weighing up to 80 kg to any point in the country with a turnaround time of 1 working day. After the successful introduction period, the company further expanded its services in December, taking market feedback into account.
With the increase in the number of online purchases, people are ordering more and more diverse products for home delivery, which in some cases cannot be delivered with traditional package logistics solutions. As a result, logistics service providers must have an increasingly versatile service portfolio in order to be a dominant player in the market.
GKID’s Online Parcel Logistics Overview published in 2023 points out that those merchants who even only periodically send larger-than-standard shipments find a suitable supplier with difficulty, perhaps only at the price of compromises. In April 2023, GLS Hungary expanded its portfolio with the so-called two-person transport, which provides a solution to this difficulty.
