Gedeon Birtok rosé won the main prize of the Szeged Wine Festival
The 2023 cabernet sauvignon rosé of the Gedeon Birtok in Izsáki won the main prize of the wine competition organized at the Szeged Wine Festival, the award was presented on Tuesday.
The excellent rosé wine was chosen by the professional jury as the best of the approximately one and a half hundred items entered. The title of best red wine was awarded to Feketeléányka Sziklabora 2021 of Balla Géza Pincészet in Ménes.
At the blind tasting, the judges chose Tamás Günzer’s 2023 Chardonnay from Villány as the best white wine, and the best rosé was the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon rosé from Csanád Szőlőbirtok, which operates in the Hajós-Baja wine region.
This year, sparkling wines were evaluated in a separate category for the first time, of which the 2021 white, dry Methode Traditionelle champagne from Szentpéteri Borpince in Kiskőrös won the approval of the judges the most.
Among the dessert wines, the experts chose the 2013 Tokaji 6 puttony aszú of the Sajgó Pincészet in Tolcsva as the best.
The recognition of the social jury went to the 2022 Chardonnay Sur Lie from Androsics Birtok in Balatonboglár.
