There is no food safety without support for farmers
In order to maintain the European Union’s food safety, it is crucial to preserve farmers’ subsidies, said István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, who was consulted with Czesław Siekierski on Wednesday, Poland’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

At the meeting, István Nagy drew attention to the fact that Poland had set forward goals for European agriculture and food safety in EU presidential duties. Our country is also of the opinion that safe food supply is not only strategic but also a national security issue. Therefore, after 2027, it is essential to preserve the common agricultural policy based on two pillars with independent and separate budgets. István Nagy called the protection of EU funding for farmers key. The minister welcomed Poland to Hungary closely cooperated with farmers to protect farmers and their competitiveness.
At the conciliation, István Nagy also drew attention to the market difficulties of Ukrainian agricultural products
According to the ministry leader, Brussels must find a long -term and reassuring solution in order to prevent European producers from being disadvantaged. Hungary continues to insist that foods from outside the Union have the same rules and regulations as products produced in the EU. The Minister of Agriculture also attended Warsaw during the day by a joint agricultural policy for food safety.
