Another station for front-side nutritional value labeling
The most recent December event of TÉT Breakfast, a professional forum launched by TÉT Platform years ago, is due to the fact that with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the help of GfK Hungária, a large-scale nutritional labeling research was carried out together with Trade magazine.
After the opening speeches discussing the importance and background of the research, Tünde Turcsán from GfK introduced the audience to the details of the research, and the results were summarized by the professional leader Antal Emese.
Dr. Pál Nobilis Márton, the Secretary of State responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasized in his speech opening the conference that the research examines a far-reaching topic, which can be a danger, but even an advantage, for the domestic food industry. The nutrition labels appearing on the front of food products speak at the same time about the rapidly changing nutritional culture, the food issues of the now eight billion people, the various concepts of healthy nutrition and the challenges faced by traditional foods and gastroculture.
As the expert said, according to a 2011 EU regulation, the labeling of the nutritional value on prepackaged foods has been generally mandatory since 2016, and at the same time, its standardization has recently been the focus of the European Commission’s attention.
