Various opinions on Fruit Logistica
‘Fruit Logistica was highly successful for Belgian fruit and vegetable exporters. It was remarkable to see so many visitors from Russia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North America.’ (Veerle Van Der Sypt, general secretary, Fresh Trade Belgium) • ‘Fruit Logistica 2011 was a huge success for the growers’ organisations. As in the past, the German fruit and vegetable sector will continue to promote cooperation in Europe and in non-EU countries.’ (Karl Schmitz, managing director, German Association of Fruit and Vegetable Growers, BVEO) • ‘The trade fair was fantastic! We had numerous enquiries, some coming from as far afield as India, China and Ukraine. Some exhibitors told me that they sold four containers of fruit in less than five minutes.’ (Lianne Jones, European field manager, Chilean Fresh Fruit Association) • ‘We were very pleased with visitor turnout this year, we booked 2,600 m² of exhibition space this year – I think we will need 3,000 m² next year.’ (Ger van Burik, exhibition coordinator of the trade association HBAG Groenten en Fruit / Holland Fresh Group) • ‘Our exhibitors are all very satisfied. They have sold almost the entire production output from the current campaign. There was particularly strong interest in our Fair-Trade asparagus.’ (William Arteaga, coordinator in the Ministry of Agriculture of Peru) • ‘Fruit Logistica was a huge success for us. Fruit campaigns for stone fruit (new this year: apricots) POS advertising were on offer, in particular to specialised dealers in Germany and Great Britain.’ (Hans-Friedrich Schmeding, marketing director, South African Embassy)
