Both consumers and producers benefit from initiatives promoting local products
Local products are becoming increasingly popular among customers, which also represents an excellent opportunity for local producers and businesses producing artisanal food. The success of the exemplary store launched by the Minden, ami Szatmár-Bereg Association also shows that there is a demand for local initiatives that bring together customers and producers.
The Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County initiative, which was established nearly two years ago and brings together local small producers and artisans, is enjoying continued success. The Minden, ami Szatmár-Bereg Association opened its Mátészalka showroom in the summer of 2023, where only the products of local artisans and small producers are on the shelves. They try to present as many county products as possible, which are made only and exclusively from the region’s raw materials.
When the store opened in 2023, they were in contact with 40-50 producers and artisans, and currently the Szatmár-Bereg creative team is working with nearly seventy members to create value. The exemplary initiative plays an important role in supporting local small producers and creators, strengthening the small business community against mass production.
The success of the initiative clearly shows that there is an increasing demand for local delicacies and artisanal goods from consumers. This represents an excellent opportunity for producers and businesses producing artisanal food. Both parties, customers and makers, benefit from similar initiatives. The association also offers several services: it holds classes for schoolchildren and kindergarteners, classes introducing the county, and the store also promotes specialties from other counties on its shelves, so that a wider audience can learn about the high-quality, tasty products of the regions.
