Employment is expected to improve in Germany, according to ifo
German companies have already begun easing their redundancy plans, suggesting a trend-reversal approach, according to a survey submitted to the MTI by the ifo Institute for Economic Research at the University of Munich.
Ifo’s “employment barometer” rose in August from 93.2 points in the previous month to 2.2 points to 95.4 points. The indicator last stood at a higher value in August than in August, at 97.9 points. In January, the index started the year with 99.4 points. It fell to 93.4 points in March, 86.4 points in April, then rose to 88.4 points in May and reached 92.4 points in June.
