An online survey was conducted by Pepita.hu, which revealed that Dominik Szoboszlai is more popular among Hungarians than Christiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé combined. Although the Hungarian team has already been eliminated, many people still follow the matches, and there are also those who tune in from the quarter-finals. We prefer to watch EC broadcasts not on the smartphone in our pocket, but rather on the largest possible TV or even a giant projector. It is not surprising that many people have now timed their TV replacement. Snacks sell better than fan relics at this time.

Pepita.hu conducted an online survey with nearly 2,000 participants in connection with the European football championship. The results revealed that every fifth respondent watches all the football EC matches, this ratio is even higher for men. There are slightly fewer people who don’t follow it at all, and there is a similar proportion of those who expressly only watch the matches of the Hungarian national team. Among the genders, the proportion of those who only follow Hungarian matches is higher than that of women. And 41 percent of the respondents will only watch the most important matches (from the quarter-finals). Although the Hungarian national football team was eliminated from the European Championship in the meantime, based on the answers, the championship still keeps many people excited.

Every second respondent typically follows EC events at home with their family. About every third respondent watches the matches alone at home. There is also a great deal of agreement that this is not a genre that can be watched on the phone, typically the events are followed on TV or giant projectors. In the survey, they were also curious about which soccer players are Hungarians’ favourites.”The answers revealed that Dominik Szoboszlai is by far the most popular, who also beat legends like Christiano Ronaldo or Kylian Mbappé,” said József Dorcsinecz, CEO of Pepita.hu.
