Carrots of Fertőd also received EU protection
By a decision of the European Commission on 3 November, the name Fertőd vidéki sárgarépa (Fertőd rural carrot) was granted EU protection.

As a result of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Geographical Indications Program, the number of EU protected geographical indications has increased to 78. 28 food, 38 wine and 12 pálinka names are protected in the EU, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) told MTI on Wednesday. (MTI)
