The number of cows sent to slaughter more advanced in Europe
The milk producers of the countries joined to the EU later certainly hope for resolving the crisis of milk overproduction.
According to Eurostat, the slaughtering of cows increased by six percent in the European Union, and by five percent in the EU-15 is, while in the EU-13 grew by 13 percent in the first four months compared to the same period of the previous year. Most of the cows (86 percent) were sent to the slaughterhouse in the old member countries. In Hungary in the first five months 1 percent more cows were slaughtered, compared to the same period of the previous year. (by our colleague)
