According to the FAO index; food prices decreased slightly
Food prices decreased slightly, due to cheaper world price of sugar and grain. Therefore, the FAO index became “only” 232 points in May, after April's 235 points.
The FAO price index – calculated with the price changes of cereals, oilseeds, milk and meat products and sugar each month – became 232 points in May, after the 235 points of April, exceeding last May's datas by 37 percent. The index peaked in February this year with 236 points – reports szabadfold.hu.
