According to the tobacco industry investors, the unified tobacco packaging would increase the black market
According to the Hungarian Association of Tobacco Industry Investors (DBMSZ), the unified packaging of tobacco products would be a drastic intervention into the market conditions in Hungary, however, it does not result in the expected health effects, and would ultimately increase the black market.
“There is no need for uniform packaging in Hungary ” – the association told MTI on Tuesday.
They also recall that in the last 4-5 years, the government has adopted a package of measures to protect the non-smokers, and as a result the proportion of non-smoking youngsters increased by 5 percent in 2013, and the number of smokers has decreased. (MTI)
